Annual General Meeting

1. Present: Chairman: Andrew Paton,

2. The Chairman gave the report of the Standing Committee.
Chris Smith was welcomed onto the Committee and thanks were expressed to
Grant Goodlad for the work he had done during his term as a committee member.
3. The Treasurer ‘s report for the year ended 31 March 2006 was given by
the Chairman in the Treasurer’s absence. The accounts were accepted by
a vote of
those present. The Chairman noted the gratitude of the Committee to Jeffrey Rosenthal for
the work he has done in auditing the AMM’s accounts over the years and for
agreeing to continue for the coming year.
The Chairman, on behalf of the Committee thanked the Administrator for all
the work done during the past year. He also mentioned that it had been agreed
to increase the fees paid to the administrator via the introduction fees.
4. The evening concluded with a talk by David Poole on his role on the
Civil Mediation Council Board. He explained the function of the various
committees
and how he will endeavour to carry out his remit to represent the
AMM and other regional providers. A discussion ensued on the subject
of what mediators and
the AMM could do to raise awareness of mediation. Would the AMM do
something on its own or possibly join with someone else in the Autumn
as there was to
be no Awareness Week this year.
A topic for further discussion was suggested by Andrew Paton : “What
more can
the organisation do for you and what more can you do for the organisation”
The meeting closed at 19.00 hours.
